For the month of February, we will be listening to music by Duke Ellington. Ellington was an American Jazz composer, pianist, and bandleader who lived from 1899-1974. He was a prominent voice of the Harlem Renaissance, composed thousands of works, and won 13 Grammy awards. His band’s song “Take the ‘A’ Train” is on NPR’s list of ‘100 Most Important American Musical Works of the 20th Century’.
