Kindergarten Music, February 2025

For the month of February, Kindergarten students are focusing on dynamics, or musical words relating to loud and quiet. Our key vocabulary words are dynamics, piano (meaning quiet), and forte (meaning loud).

We are wrapping up our work with Los Pollitos, and students will have the opportunity to sing by themselves for the class. Continuing our study of songs in languages other than English, we will begin learning Au Claire de la Lune, a French folk song.

In honor of Black History Month, we will be learning about A Tisket, A Tasket, as sung by Ella Fitzgerald. We will watch a video of Ms. Fitzgerald singing the song, and learn a game that goes with it. We will also learn about John Henry, an African American folk hero, by reading picture books and then listening to the song John Henry.
